Happy New Year, friends!
I can't believe we're already halfway through the first month of the year. I hate that I haven't posted in so long but December was just a whirlwind for us. I have a lot to catch up on! I will do some detailed posts soon, but here is a recap.
We went to Charlotte for Christmas and we both came down with the flu. I got the flu shot on a Thursday and the flu on Sunday. I don't think they were related but I do think the shot actually lessened the severity of it for me. I basically slept all through Christmas Eve, Christmas, and the next couple of days and had a sore throat but that was it. Poor Mr. D was much sicker than I was.
We came back to town and saw Les Mis on the Thursday after Christmas. It was AMAZING. It's a long movie, but so worth it. Highly recommend it!
Then we hopped on a plane to Nashville to spend New Year's weekend with my dad. We had a great time - and Kelly and Ryan were there, too - and we saw some great live music, had lots of good meals, and had plenty of relaxation. It was perfect!
We came home from Nashville and a couple of days later, we zipped off for a two hour car ride to pick up Zoey, our new puppy! She's a goldendoodle and is full of personality. When you say a puppy is full of personality, it means they're crazy. Ha! She's super sweet but she's definitely a puppy and she loves to jump and bite. We're trying to stop that as quickly as we can!
So that's what we've been up to. I will be back with detailed posts and some vlogs but in the meantime... here's some pictures of sweet, crazy Zoey!
Happy Wednesday!

So you were sick over break :( Zoey is adorable!! I love the last 2 pictures. Too funny. It's amazing how they become your baby so quickly. :o)
What a darling little pup! I've been dog-hunting for quite a while now. :)
Sorry you had the flu over Christmas--that is a huge bummer! Glad you're doing better now, though. :)
Melissa, Zoey is beautiful. I don't think I could live without a dog; they bring so much joy and happiness to your life. The flu shot is supposed to take about 2 weeks to kick in and they say you cannot get the flu from the shot. I know that was not always the case because the first flu shot I ever got (about 35 years ago), made me sick, but they are not supposed to do that any more. I have missed your videos. Please send us video of Zoey. Bye
Sure have missed your posts! Hope things are ok!
